π¨ Found a Stray Pet? Hereβs What To Do! π¨
- ππ Secure the animal on a leash or in a carrier
- π Note where found, breed/color/gender, approx. age, and unique features
- πΈ Take a photo of the pet
- Visit your nearest Pet Scanner to check for Micro-chip ID
π How to Scan:
- βΆοΈ Press power button to turn on scanner
- βοΈ Slowly wave it up & down the petβs back (no need to touch)
- π If chip is found, scanner will beep & show a number
- βοΈ Write down the number or snap a pic

- Your name & contact info
- Location found + Pet Scan Station used
- Petβs details & photo
- Microchip number (if found)
- Can you safely keep them for 24 hours?
π’ Volunteers can help with fostering, animal transportation, posting to social media, and contacting LA Animal Services.
π‘ Reminder:
- LA County requires found animals be reported within 4 hours.
- Pets must be held for a 14-day stray hold before rehoming.
